GENERAL SUGGESTIONS

RECOMMEND CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT

  • Bring two pairs of (well broken in) footwear with thick socks, wide brim field hat and sun screen (minimum 30 SPF) with a spare pair of comfortable shoes for after the hunt.
  • A pair of gloves for the early morning.
  • 3 Sets of Olive green or dark green khaki coloured cotton clothing. (Please note that camouflage clothing is permitted in South Africa but is prohibitate in most other African countries. Please note that there will be daily laundry service.
  • A good warm jacket will be required in the early morning and evenings.
  • We recommend bringing your own ammunition, camera, binoculars, flash light, sunglasses and a raincoat.
  • Personal medication.
  • Insect repellent.
  • Electrical socket converter, we make use of 220v.
  • Proper hunting knife.
  • Rifle cleaning kit and accessories.
  • Personal diary.
  • Lip balm.

TRANSPORT AT THE AIRPORT

On your arrival at the airport you, will be met by one of our professional and friendly staff members which will assist you with your baggage and fire arm collection.
There are 3 options to travel to the lodge:

  • Helicopter
  • Private plane
  • 4 x 4 Vehicle

During your exclusive transportation any questions regarding South Africa, hunting or any questions will be answered by our qualified hunter.

MEALS

Daily rates include meals, soft drinks, house wine and beers. Meal times are flexible and will be adapted to your hunting programme and your needs. Cereals, toast, homemade rusks and tea and coffee will be available in the morning before setting off for the days exciting hunt or safari. Normally two cooked meals will be prepared i.e. branch and dinner. Soft drinks, tea and coffee are available on request at no additional cost.

MEDICAL ADVICE

The location of the lodge is malaria free but in some hunting area’s in and around South Africa malaria is prevalent. We recommend that anti-malaria tablets are taken when hunting in malaria areas. We recommend that you consult your doctor beforehand. Should you require any medical attention, doctors may be called out to the lodge. Please note all payments for medical services will be for the clients account. Lichenry Hunting and Safaris camp and vehicles are equipped with first aid kits but we recommend that all clients purchase travel insurance and subscribe to emergency medical evacuation.

SIGHTSEEING AND ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

Lichenry Hunting and Safaris are willing to arrange tours to various destinations in and out of South Africa on the request of guests.

GRATUITIES

If you are satisfied with the staff’s service and would like to make a contribution we suggest the following:

  • Please discuss this with your Professional hunter first.
  • $20 per day for the tracker.
  • $10 per day for the cook.
  • $5 per day for the rest of the staff.
  • 10% of the total daily rate for the Professional hunter.
